Our favourite van life spots on the Llyn Peninsula

1) PORTH IAGO - NORTH WALES, LLYN PENINSULA.

Lyn Peninsula has got to be our favourite place in Wales so far, the beaches and coastal walks are incredible no matter where you go. We came across Porth Iago when looking for a ‘cove beach’ to go swimming, it’s now the beach we seem to compare everywhere else too.

Parking: It’s a campsite located on a working farm, it’s £5 for the day or £20 overnight, this didn’t include electricity.. (Prices may have changed) As you pull up at the farm you can pay via parking machine (bring coins) and just park up where ever you like. We parked with our back doors facing over the ‘cliff edge’ for the best view.

Facilities: The site has basic but clean toilets and there has always been a food van.

To get onto the beach it’s quite a steep walk down the grassy verge but totally worth it. The water is crystal clear and the beach itself is so clean, defiantly a hidden gem!

There is a gorgeous coastal walk across the fields, perfect for a sunset walk. Speaking of sunsets, wait until your parked up, lay in bed, doors open watching the best sun go down over the sea, it's magical.

2) HELLS MOUTH - ABERSOCH, LLYN  PENINSULA

Porth Neigwl (Hells Mouth) - We found this park up on ‘Park4Night’ We parked here for one night with no bother at all, lots of campervans coming and going through the day and we had about 3 other vans next to us overnight. The car park is surrounded by farmers' fields, and we even had a family of little bunnies in the field opposite.

Van Life park up by the beach

Just a short sandy walk from the car park is the beach, it's a mix of pebbles and sand so would recommend water shoes if you're going into the sea.

We got the paddleboard out but it was too choppy. Read the signs in the car park before entering the water as it’s known for strong undercurrents.

The park up itself was so peaceful, if you follow the coastal path you’ll come across an old ruin which you can find a video of on our TikTok.

3) Criccieth, Llyn Peninsula.

This is a stunning park up if you're passing through the area, it’s a layby just off the main road so can be quite noisy but the views make up for it!

Another park4night gem!! There is a public footpath down to the pebble beach with crystal clear water.

Criccieth itself is a beautiful seaside town, further down from the park up is ‘Criccieth beach’ which is where we went paddle boarding, the water was so still!

There’s even a castle for you to have a walk around.
